Social Networking For a Cause: Minnesota Vikings
All of us regular users of the Social Networks like Facebook and Twitter have seen organizations network for a cause. This last week it got close to home with the newly elected Shakopee Mayor proposing that the new Minnesota Vikings stadium be built right here in our town!
Mayor Brad Tabke was only in office for one week when the plan was formulated, with the help of a few others in the area, equally as passionate, they set the plan in motion. Fast forward to the day of the announcement, and the social networking sites were buzzing with the news!
There have literally been thousands of Tweets which began with the press release, and the numbers continue to grow. The dedicated hashtag is now #ShakoStadium
Besides the local press coverage, in print and in broadcast there was coverage online, outside the state:
CNBC
The Washington Post
Yahoo Sports Canada
